I’ve always been a bit of a science nerd, so it’s no surprise that I find glaze chemistry absolutely fascinating. My journey to clay is a bit convoluted- I studied biology in college, worked as a forensic biologist and then biology teacher; never once thinking I was artistic. Then I found myself wanting to take a pottery class, it started as just a way to get a bit of me time when my children were quite young, and it quickly became an obsession. A few years into my journey, I had an opportunity to take a crystalline glaze class. At this point I didn’t know a thing about glazes or ceramic materials, so this class is where the obsession began. From that point forward, I focused on crystalline glaze development and began to absorb all I could about glaze chemistry from workshops and coursework.

My studio is in my Manassas, VA home that I share with my husband, 2 teenage boys, 1 dog, 2 cats and a revolving cast of foster cats and kittens. I primarily sell my work at art fairs and festivals throughout the country and occasional online shop update here.
